Sam Downie is quite happy to mix in a Dub Stage, creating a unique immersive mix for Short Films, Features and for Television shows in formats such as 5.1 , 7.1 and Dolby Atmos. His works have already been screened on the Big screen !

As a UMG-approved Dolby Atmos mixer, I work out and mix at various studios nationally in the United Kingdom and Internationally. I am a Bristol (England)-based immersive engineer who works on legacy and contemporary catalog tracks and albums, turning them immersive, to be delivered in Dolby Atmos.
My approach is simple. Put the music first. Every session is treated as a collaborative process, with time taken to understand the intention behind the record, music, the artist, the film or television production and I ensure the final delivery master carries the same energy and emotion as the original mix.
Universal Music Group (UMG) develops and standardizes its Dolby Atmos and spatial audio catalog through internal engineering leadership like Nick Rives (Director of Audio Engineering / Head of Immersive Audio) alongside specialized external mixing partners, compliance teams, and dedicated facilities like Abbey Road Studios. Since 2024 I have passed the QC tests set by Universal Music Group (uk) at Abbey Road Studios.
My details are on the internal books at Universal, and I’m now all ready to work for all artists, a&r, managers and studios. I’m able to offer exclusive rates for Dolby Atmos mixing.

Dsoundz Media is a small independent mastering house built around collaboration, openness and care for the music.
Founded by Sam Downie, a two time BAFTA nominated director and a MPG Unsung Hero of the Year 2026 mastering engineer and immersive mixer, the studio brings world class mastering and creative expertise to your project.
Sam’s work includes learning his mixing chops in the 1990’s starting out on Massive Attack’s Blue Lines debut album, as well as records by Jazz Jamaica All Stars, Revelation3 and others. Sam also has film credits on Meet The Metahumans, Uniquely Human, Dawn of The Dark Fox and others. Sam has created a mastering house that puts the art of sound and people first.
