Mac evangelist Sam Downie said: “When Apple announced that they were partnering with Intel I found out that it was a great move by them. They were having several problems. Lots of consumers were expecting a G5 in a laptop, and because of heat problems that wasn’t going to happen.But with the move to Intel those heat problems have died down, there are faster machines, and also the ability to run Windows.” – Sam believes this is a good thing because users can now run the applications they want to. Since 2005, Sam Downie has appeared a few more times on CLICK , this time focusing on Apple, Startups, Social Media Platforms and Netcasting. Yes, the famous radio ship is back on-air… well, at least with a RSL license and broadcasting from a different ship “The Thekla”. Here I did a show on weekend night’s, sharing the airtime with Emma B (BBC Radio presenter) and others such as Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais < wonder what happened to them.. (1997) KUTE FM – Bristol. A short-term RSL station, broadcasting a mix of Soul, Funk, Jazz and Hiphop. I presented my successful Jazz/Funk show format, which I brought over from New Zealand. (1993-1994) THE JAZZ SHOW & Jewel Skool on Radio Active 89fm, Wellington, New Zealand – Sam first stepped head-first into the world of Radio, as co-presenter on Jewel Skool a weekly Saturday night show full of music and entertainment, on New Zealand based station Active 89FM in Wellington. Due to the success of Sam’s presenting style, he was offered to present a weekly 3-hour show mixing up Jazz, Funk, Hiphop and Soul including in-studio guests and recordings from gigs in Wellington. Sam is a Member of Wikipedia, the international and free encyclopedia that anyone can edit. He’s also worked with Wikipedia’s founder/ceo Jimmy Wales for Wikipedia’s 10th Anniversary in January 2011. He’s also an ambassador for Salaam Shalom Media, a unique media/radio dialogue project that brings Jews and Muslims together. More recently, Sam’s joined the board of several Disability charity’s, as he suffers with Epilepsy, so knows how people with “hidden” disability’s are treated… but he feels that he can help, and make his voice heard using the various media channels/contacts that he knows well (so watch this space).CHARITIES (Click Here)

Traveling The World…
Sam’s traveled around the world, to places such as San Francisco, USA to attend and speak at Macworld Conference & Expo; to Wellington, New Zealand to present on Active 89fm radio and to work alongside Award-winning band Fat Freddy’s Drop. He’s also been to Australia, and to Paris in France to work for Apple Computer at their Apple Expo.

Remixing tracks by well known artists such as: The Black Eyed Peas, Peter Gabriel and Kosheen. More recently, he’s done a remix of a track called “Could Just Be The Bassline” co-written by BRIT Award winner Ed Sheeran and ARTFUL.
